For sheer headline savings, 7-Eleven Fuel Lock is still the strongest mainstream fuel discount I could verify. The official FAQ and terms page say you can redeem a Fuel Lock at any 7-Eleven fuel store in Australia that sells that fuel type, it lasts 7 days, applies to up to 150 litres, and can save up to 25 cents per litre.
The fine print matters, though. 7-Eleven also says Fuel Lock is based on the best local price among the nearest stores it checks, not a live comparison of all fuel retailers. And its terms explicitly say that when you redeem a Fuel Lock, other app-based fuel-price offers are void for that transaction.

That last part is important. Petrol Spy is useful, but it is not equally “official” in every state. So I like it best as a national comparison tool, not as the only thing you trust blindly.

Victoria is much better than it used to be on this. Service Victoria says Servo Saver shows up-to-the-minute prices from every fuel station across the state, and Consumer Affairs Victoria says all Victorian fuel retailers have to report their prices. From 10 March 2026, Victoria also moved to daily price caps, with prices feeding into Servo Saver.

5. Best WA Tool: FuelWatch
FuelWatch remains the obvious WA answer. Its mobile site still shows best prices available from 6:00am for different Perth regions and fuel types. That matters because the ACCC says Perth’s average petrol price cycle in 2024 was around 1 week, much shorter than cities like Sydney or Melbourne.
Short version: in WA, timing matters a lot, and FuelWatch is still built for that reality.
